8 COVID-19 recoveries today
As of June 23rd, there were three (3) persons who tested positive for COVID-19; however eight (8) persons have recovered; bringing the total active cases to fifty four (54). The total number of confirmed cases is now two thousand five hundred eighty five (2585).
The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) are monitoring forty eight (48) people in home isolation. Six (6) patients remain hospitalized at the St. Maarten Medical Center. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at thirty two (32).
The number of people recovered since the first case surfaced on St. Maarten has increased to two thousand four hundred ninety nine (2499). Seventy seven (77) people are in quarantine based on contact tracing investigations carried out by CPS.
The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour (VSA) Airport Health Team in collaboration with Health Care Laboratory Sint Maarten (HCLS) have tested 3, 178 travelers arriving at the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA), while CPS tested 33, 371 people throughout the community. As the numbers continue to fluctuate, CPS will continue to actively execute its contact tracing measures.
This weekend pop- up COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be on Saturday June 26th at the de Weever property in Dutch Quarter from 9:00am until supplies last. All persons who are interested in getting vaccinated are asked to bring any form of photo ID for registration.
