KPSM Message – Ministerial Decrees & Updated Fines

The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) informs the public that two Ministerial Decrees issued by the Minister of Justice are now in effect as part of the general safety measures for the busy high-season period. These decrees include restrictions on the use of scooters and motorcycles in key areas of Philipsburg, as well as regulations related to public order and the approach of tourists at designated locations.

KPSM officers will actively enforce all provisions outlined in these decrees. Patrols have already begun issuing warnings, and enforcement will increase in the coming days.

In support of these efforts, the Prosecutor’s Office has released an updated transaction list, which includes new fine amounts for various infractions, including traffic violations and public-order offenses. These updated fines will be applied immediately by officers during enforcement actions.

KPSM reminds the community that these measures are aimed at ensuring safety, maintaining order, and protecting both residents and visitors throughout the high season. The Police Force thanks everyone for their cooperation.
