Public Statement: Minister of Finance Marinka Gumbs Confirms Payment to All Subsidized Schools

The Minister of Finance Ms. Marinka Gumbs would like to publicly confirm that the payment related to the 1% increase in vacation allowance has been made to all subsidized schools. This payment was processed on Monday, August 5th, 2024.

The Minister has received reports from some teachers indicating that certain schools have stated they have not yet received these funds. The Minister would like to clarify that all schools have indeed been paid this was verified and confirmed by the Ministry of Finance. It is now the responsibility of each school to distribute these funds to their teachers.

The Minister of Finance is pleased to hear that some schools have already disbursed these funds to their teachers and encourages all remaining schools to do the same promptly.​
