Illegal Parking in Philipsburg will no longer be tolerated. Hefty fines to be issued

PHILIPSBURG) - Over the past few days, the Sint Maarten Police Force Patrols (KPSM), has observed a huge increase in illegal parking on the Boardwalk in Philipsburg, the law enforcement agency said on Thursday in a statement.

We would like to, through this press release, warn the general public that if your vehicle is parked in a non-designated parking area you will be ticketed with a hefty fine. This warning also applies to persons who park their vehicles on the sidewalk on Front Street.

Avoid being ticketed, park in government designated parking spaces.

NOTE: For those wondering where to pay when they get a fine, here is the requisite information:

Fines can be paid in cash at the Receiver’s Office in the Government Building, Soualiga Road or by pin transaction at the Prosecutor’s Office at Emmaplein 1 in Philipsburg, on working days between 9:00am and 5:00pm.

Fines can also be paid by bank transfer to bank account number 10058592 (CIBC First Caribbean), named to ‘Openbaar Ministerie Sint Maarten-Parket Officier van Justitie’, Emmaplein 1, Sint Maarten, and with the reference number (parketnummer). For international transfers, use the following SWIFT/BIC code: FCIBSXSM.
