PHILIPSBURG) – Over the past few days, the Sint Maarten Police Force Patrols (KPSM), has observed a huge increase in illegal parking on the Boardwalk in Philipsburg, the law enforcement agency said on Thursday in a statement.

We would like to, through this press release, warn the general public that if your vehicle is parked in a non-designated parking area you will be ticketed with a hefty fine. This warning also applies to persons who park their vehicles on the sidewalk on Front Street.

Avoid being ticketed, park in government designated parking spaces.

Illegal parking will no longer tolerated. (KPSM)

NOTE: For those wondering where to pay when they get a fine, here is the requisite information:

Fines can be paid in cash at the Receiver’s Office in the Government Building, Soualiga Road or by pin transaction at the Prosecutor’s Office at Emmaplein 1 in Philipsburg, on working days between 9:00am and 5:00pm.

Fines can also be paid by bank transfer to bank account number 10058592 (CIBC First Caribbean), named to ‘Openbaar Ministerie Sint Maarten-Parket Officier van Justitie’, Emmaplein 1, Sint Maarten, and with the reference number (parketnummer). For international transfers, use the following SWIFT/BIC code: FCIBSXSM.
