In a heartwarming initiative, a group of inmates from the Point Blanche prison visited the White and Yellow Cross Center on December 16 th , to share the gift of music with the residents. This initiative has not only brought joy to the residents but has also left a positive impact on the participating inmates.

The New Energy Band displayed a diverse range of musical talents and entertained the residents with a repertoire that spanned various genres, from upbeat Christmas melodies to popular local beats. The atmosphere at the center transformed as the sounds of guitars, keyboards, and heartfelt vocals filled the air, creating a sense of unity and connection among the attendees.

The White and Yellow Cross Center welcomed the musical inmates as part of their ongoing effort to provide diverse experiences for their residents. Correctional officers overseeing the visit noted the positive impact on the participating inmates, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute positively to the community.

One inmate stated:

“Words cannot express the feeling I had when I started playing and saw the crowd stand up and dance! I enjoyed the experience and wished I could dance too!”.

Another stated:

“The experience of playing for this event will be one to remember. We are very happy to know that everyone was pleased and that the music was perfect for the occasion. We are grateful to be able to play for the senior citizens and their families”.

Such initiatives aim to foster a sense of responsibility and empathy among incarcerated individuals, promoting personal growth and rehabilitation.

Residents at the center responded enthusiastically to the musical performance. The power of music became evident as smiles, laughter, and even a few dance moves broke out among the audience.
