CAY HILL - Partnering together in an effort to provide help to those in need of mental health and women domestic abuse on St. Maarten, newly appointed Safe Haven director Vanessa Fraser made her first official visit to the Mental Health Foundation (MHF), MHF said on Tuesday in a statement.
The invitation requested by Director Fraser was based on not only having an informative tour of the organization but in addition to revamping the existing M.O.U.
The visit was hosted by MHF Medical Coordinator Dr. Kitty Pelswijk and MHF Interim Director Ms. Eileen Healy.
Director Fraser was well engaged and asked tough questions while being engaged in brief discussions with the various nurses, psychologists, case managers, mentors, and other staff about their roles at the foundation.
The Mental Health Foundation is dedicated to providing the best psychiatric care possible to the community on St. Maarten, stated MHF Medical Coordinator Dr. Kitty Pelswijk.
Safe Haven Foundation is a confidential, non-profit organization that offers free shelter, counseling, and supportive services to women and their minor-aged children who are the victims of domestic violence.
