Building on the Success of Previous Events, Conference Focuses on Sustainable Air Transportation and inter-island collaborations

Simpson Bay, St. Maarten (July 31, 2024) – Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) is excited to announce that it will be hosting the third annual Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) conference on St. Maarten. This highly anticipated event, taking place from 18 November 2024 to 19 November 2024, will bring together industry leaders, stakeholders, and partners to discuss the future of sustainable air transportation and inter-island collaborations in the Dutch Caribbean.

The DCCA "Flight to the Future" conference has become a cornerstone for collaboration and knowledge sharing within the region. The second edition, held in November 2023 at Curaçao International Airport, saw a tremendous turnout. Building on this success, PJIAE is committed to delivering an even more engaging and inspiring experience for all attendees on St. Maarten.

The Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports (DCCA) is organizing the 3rd International Sustainable Air Transportation event called “A Flight To The Future” in Sint Maarten in November 2024. A two-day event filled with presentations, panel discussion and masterclasses, all with the purpose of sharing knowledge, creating dialogue on the future of aviation and on interisland connectivity in the Dutch Caribbean.

Princess Juliana International Airport is the second busiest airport in the Northeast Caribbean and serves as a vital airport hub for Saba, St Eustatius, St Barthelemy, Anguilla, Dominica, Nevis, and Tortola. The airport stands as one of the largest employers on the island, with 315 workers employed directly and a total of 1700 workers within the entire airport community. In 2024, Sint Maarten Airport expects to handle 1.5 million passengers and 54,000 aircraft movements.
