July 1, 2021 12:30 am

On Saturday June 26th, 2021 representatives of the NAPB,ABVO unions and a member of the Lands recherché joint with a representative of the Ministry of Justice in a work session on the function books relating to different divisions within the Ministry of Justice. During this work session the function books were reviewed once again and final observations and questions were formulated. Although representatives of the unions previously collaborated on the function books review from December to February,2020, this second work session was fruitful for all parties concerned. Parties took the time and worked through each function book in detail between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m..

The discussions were open and frank and points brought forward were deliberated on so all could have a good and clear understanding. The observations and questions will undergo a legal review and will then be submitted to the Honorable Minister of Justice, Anna E. Richardson. Union Representatives expressed hope that in the future this type communication could be maintained so all parties would be well informed at all times as well as be part of all processes of essence for the union members. Minister echoes this sentiment and further indicated that discussion are ongoing with the CCSU with hopes that the NAPB, being the only union that is not a member, can be officially recognized as a member in the future and that standard meetings can be kept.
