Essential businesses allowed to open to the public

POND ISLAND -- As of today, Thursday, April 16, 2020, the following essential businesses are allowed to open to the public:

• Banks
• Supermarkets/grocery stores (as of tomorrow, Thursday)
• Bakeries (for sale of bread)
• Pharmacies
• Gas stations (wholesalers and retailers)
• Cooking gas sellers

The first hour of shopping at all establishments is reserved for senior citizens, pregnant women and differently-able persons. Only one person per household is allowed in businesses.

It is advised to maintain social distancing when using shared transportation when not from same household. Recommended is two persons per car - the driver and one passenger in the back sitting behind the passenger seat.
